Natural Plant Based Skin Care for Your Best Menopause Skin
Menopause skin care using only natural ingredients and formulated by menopausal women, namely us, for menopausal women and beyond is what makes our menopause skin care range unique.
The idea of natural efficacy has been with us throughout time. The Ancient Egyptians used oils such as Castor and Moringa in anti ageing treatments and the juice of Aloe Vera to cleanse and tone. The Romans used Rose water, Olive oil, Almond oil and Frankincense for softer, more youthful skin.
Shakespeare also drew upon nature for his inspiration for the witches scene in MacBeth ~ “Eye of newt and toe of frog, Wool of bat and tongue of dog”. “Eye of newt” is a pseudonym for mustard seed. “Toe of frog” is buttercup. “Wool of bat” is holly leaves. “”Tongue of dog” is a herb, hound’s tongue.
In many ways, natural skin care formulation is just the same today as it was back in Shakespeare’s time. Each ingredient that we use has been provided by Mother Nature, and each has an INCI name as well as a common name.
The INCI name is the universal name and is the same in all languages. The common name is the name by which it is known to a particular country/region, and these of course can vary from place to place.
An example would be Frankincense. Its common name is Frankincense in the UK, though it can also be known as Olibanum in other countries. Its INCI name however, is Boswellia sacra and this would be universal on an ingredients list for a registered cosmetic product.
Here at, La Femme Verte we believe that natural ingredients are not only beautiful but also superbly effective.
